Emergency Preparedness Planner Student
“There’s a great sense of fulfilment, not just from being assigned important tasks, but also from seeing them through to completion and getting full recognition for it.”
It says a lot about OPG that Vanessa, an Emergency Management Co-op Student, has chosen to come back for a second work placement. But, it also says a lot about Vanessa and how she fits in within our highly team-oriented environment.
A combined Science and Business major, Vanessa is all about exploring different career possibilities – and she’s come to the right place. She points out that OPG’s training program for Co-ops is comprehensive, with its orientation, follow-ups and mid-term evaluations, the work is interesting and challenging, and there are limitless learning opportunities.
Vanessa also enjoys the collegial and inter-departmental interaction, citing the special Lunch & Learns for students as a great way to find out about the work of various departments. The Head Office location in downtown Toronto is clearly the proverbial icing on the cake for Vanessa, who likes its proximity to Queen’s Park, U of T and the Eaton Centre, and the opportunity it gives her to discover the city while she prepares for a successful future.
