Toronto - Corporate
Senior Communications Advisor
“I feel that my work is respected and makes a difference to OPG’s success in the marketplace.”
After spending two summers working in the Public Affairs department of our Darlington Nuclear Generating Station, Rose was attracted to the excellent culture, the challenging work and the many career development opportunities at OPG. She looks back fondly on this early student experience – the fact that she was given challenging assignments with real responsibilities, and encouraged to take on new initiatives in a supportive environment. It’s not surprising, then, that she chose to join OPG in August 2006, upon completion of her BBA.
Currently a Senior Communications Advisor at our corporate head office, Rose is particularly thankful for the respect and support exhibited by her co-workers, and for being able to learn from her more experienced colleagues each and every day. Rose is also taking full advantage of formal education initiatives, both in-house and externally, including taking Computer Based Training (CBT) courses, Transportation Emergency Response Plan (TERP) training at OPG’s nuclear learning centres, and several communications courses at the University of Toronto and a professional development agency. As she learns about all sides of the OPG business – Hydroelectric, Fossil and Nuclear, develops corporate experience and broadens her skills, she’s a firm believer that there are lots of development opportunities ahead for her at OPG.
