Toronto - Corporate
“I think that OPG is very supportive of aspiring young working professionals – both from an operational standpoint and through the passing of knowledge from working professionals to new people in the corporation.”
When Matthew decided to join OPG directly out of college in 2007, he had a pretty good idea of what to expect. After all, he had already spent two very positive student work terms at OPG – one summer as part of the civil crew at the R.H. Saunders Hydroelectric Generating Station, and one winter as a Developmental Co-op student with the CAL e-learning department at the Pickering Learning Centre.
Today, he’s an A/V Graphic Worker at Toronto’s head office, where he enjoys the great working relationships. He believes that this highly supportive culture is vital for individual and team success, given the fast-paced environment as they work to adhere to deadlines and meet client needs.
In addition to being able to express his creativity visually, enhance his artistic vision and hone his skills on a day-to-day basis through his varied work assignments, Matthew enjoys the opportunity to complement his Advanced Graphic Design Diploma studies with continued learning. This has included obtaining specialized certificates in the most recent versions of the Adobe Creative suite. This former Co-op student is glad that OPG is very supportive of aspiring young working professionals, and sees this as the driving force to furthering his education and advancing his career.
